PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The continuing education lecture provides an overview of liver transplantation and the important role of immunosuppressant therapy for transplant patients. Because these patients will be seen for usual care in the primary care setting, it is important that NPs are familiar with the medical issues associated with post-transplant care. The discussion includes information about immunosuppressant regimens, food-drug interactions, and significant complications associated with long-term immunosuppressant therapy.
